This stage of life is so exciting! Hearing what your son/daughter is passionate about, what they plan to do in the next phase of their life is my favorite thing about capturing Portland Senior Photos. Graduating seniors are also just FUN to be around. So with all this fun energy and hope for the future, putting them in stiff awkward poses just feels wrong. We want to capture your graduating senior as they are right now! I have plenty of prompts and tricks up my sleeve to get them feeling comfortable in front of the camera, and we’ll keep things moving—walking, laughing, switching things up—so their personality naturally comes through.
You get to make this yours. Want your senior to bring something that represents a hobby or interest? Do it! Bring a few outfits, add layers, keep it simple or go a little bold—I’ll help you plan it so it all feels cohesive without feeling overthought. The goal is for them to show up feeling like themself, just slightly more put together. Then your photos actually feel like your kid, in this really specific, fleeting moment before everything changes.

How it Works
Before the Session
Once you submit your session fee to hold your date, you get access to my Welcome Packet which includes FAQs, examples of color combos for outfits, recommended places to shop, and my locations. We decide on a location together, or I can choose based on what you’re looking for. I like to choose a location that you’re excited about or that has personal meaning to you. Regardless of where we go, I’ll help you choose a spot with beautiful light and guide you on timing.
A week before the session I’ll reach out with final details on time and where we’re meeting as well as check in with those outfits. If you need a second opinion on something don’t hesitate to ask! I want you to come to your session feeling totally confident.
During the Session
At your Portland Senior Photo session we take things as they come, we go with the flow, and we have tons of fun together! I have no problem pivoting when a certain pose gets tiring or feels inauthentic. I guide you through the whole thing so no need to worry about coming prepared with poses. We move around a lot and change things up so you (and your photos) don’t feel stiff. We basically hang out, I occasionally tell you what to do, we take some photos, then chat and hang out some more. We keep things really chill and go at a pace that’s comfortable for you.
After the Session
About a week after our full one-hour session, you’ll get full access to your gallery so that you can keep those memories for years to come. There’s no picking and choosing your favorites-you get to keep them all so you can return to them over and over! Full sessions also come with a $75 print credit which is basically just a built-in excuse to finally get photos framed instead of saying “I’ll do it later” for a year. (Hey, no judgement—I’ve been there!)

Absolutely! I love getting to be creative and include things that you’re passionate about. Just realize that we’ll also do some photos without it so you have a good variety of images in your final gallery.

Don’t worry, I got your back! I direct you through the whole thing, answer that pesky “where do I put my hands” question, and we do lots of movement so you don’t feel (or look!) stiff.

In your Portland Senior Photography session I like to do a mix of both formal looking-at-the-camera pictures and more natural and candid photos. My priority is to capture YOU-your personality, your quirks, the little things that make you unique. Because of that, I definitely lean more heavily on the candid photos because those capture you in a more true way than just smiling and looking at the camera. But yes, you can definitely expect some more formal posed images in your gallery.

Absolutely! I recommend 3 outfits max for full sessions, and only super quick changes (like adding a jacket) for petite/half sessions. Anything more than that really eats into our session time and can feel stressful-we don’t want that!
